Drink your coffee and your whiskey in the same chair.

It’s this weird thing, the chair that I sit on while drinking my morning coffee is the place I think on. Where I haven’t checked my phone and it is a time of reflection.

I get mentally prepped for the day to come.

This is my morning ritual, I just sit, think, reminisce and visualize where I want to be.

Pretty soon that chair became an integral part of my life.

Every morning for the past 6 years I have been intentionally leaving my phone in my room and sitting at the dining table with my coffee and cigarette.

Today I tried it with my whiskey at 9 pm. Exact same result.

I am calm, feel peaceful and feel good about myself.

Without making any bones about it, as I write this I am on my third and final drink for the night.

The reason I write this is that I used to usually spend this hour sitting in front of the TV absorbing constant chatter, and I realized it was just noise. Today I had left my phone aside and just sat there.

Exact same result.

I will be going to bed in the same frame of mind that I woke up with.

This amazing sensation of how life has so much more to offer if we just shut out the noise that keeps us from discovering it.

I am not advocating caffeine use Or binge drinking. I am saying try what works for you.

As for me, I lifted weights in the morning and walked 5 kms in the evening.

I am shamelessly used to consuming alcohol and smoking, a habit I am working on, but I am also making it work for myself, turning my weakness to my strength.

This is a spontaneous post, I picked up my phone and thought of writing this with the hope of telling you about my experience and also discovering likeminded people who have experienced this.
